Head chefs Mark Teasdale of Sharrow Bay and Nigel Mendham at the Samling, both hotels belonging to the von Essen group, are going on a five day tour which will run from October 25th until October 29th. They will be joined by fellow top Michelin starred chef, Shane Hughes, from Ynyshir Hall in Wales.  The annual event has been designed to celebrate von Essen hotels culinary success, as the collection now has the most Michelin starred properties of any hotel group the UK, according to the press release.

The tour sounds like a good idea, unfortunately the trio will not be cooking in Cumbria, the tour goes to von Essen hotels in Devon, Wiltshire, Berkshire and Gloucestershire. Nevertheless - always good that the fantastic food produced in Cumbria gets promoted outside the county!

Head Chef, Nigel Mendham, commented “Both Mark and I are delighted to be able to showcase the area to a wider audience across the UK."
