Sure, we set off to pick wild garlic to make some soup – but the real revelation of the day turned out to be the wild garlic bread! Stay tuned....
Here's Lukie and me foraging for the lovely leaves along the river walk in Grasmere (whose land is this? no clue, but it seems a pity to waste all that lovely green stuff!)

These are the ingredients for the soup...300 g of wild garlic leaves to 1 litre of chicken stock. In hindsight I'd leave out the parsley; you really want to focus on the pure subtlety of the wild garlic....

So – to the bread: Martin's invention (credit where credit's due!)
He whizzed up about 100 gr of butter, 2 tbs of olive oil and a dozen wild garlic stalks.

The soup turned out delicious, but the bread – YUM! It had this amazing freshness to it, that I absolutely loved...
