The second installment of the Taste Cumbria food festival will take place on September 24-25 in Cockermouth, so save that date! Last year was a phenomenal success, and a haven for food lovers with most of Cumbria's top artisan producers selling their products.
A new event this year will be the Secret Restaurant, a ‘pop-up’ restaurant, where each of the four chefs from Cumbria's Michelin restaurants L’Enclume, The Samling, Sharrow Bay and Holbeck Ghyll, will prepare a course of their choice in front of guests, who will be able to get up close and personal, watching each course being created and have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session.
Katie Read, West Cumbria Tourism Manager says:
“The Secret Restaurant is a wonderfully innovative concept that brings together the cream of Cumbria’s leading chefs. To have these world-standard hotels and restaurants involved in the event adds to the high standard and kudos of the festival and it can only reinforce the message we are sending out nationally, that the Cumbrian food and drink offer truly is second to none.
